Off Season

By: Beau Attyah
It’s finally the month of October! The month that baseball starts back up. It’s the first step towards the baseball season.  We practice on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from two o’clock to seven forty-five. We also practice on Sunday’s form eleven to four. I have never had a practice that lasted for five and a half hours but this is a great change to make us all better baseball players. If we want to defend our conference championship title we have be perfect and practice makes us perfect.
But coming to a well-known university with great expectations academically it is tough to manage your schoolwork with baseball. With the long hours of off season practice you learn how to prioritize your time and be successful on and off the field.  Recently we had are first off-season game against Blinn College in Brenham Texas. We played two very tough games back to back. We lost the first game but won the second. During the games we played with a lot of intensity and aggression that really made are coach happy. I got to play in my first college game with one at bat and caught the last inning of the game. It was an awesome experience and a time I will never forget. In a week and half we have are fall world serious best of 5 games, which I heard, is the best part of the off-season. I cannot wait for the competition to begin.
